What is an Urgent Care Center?
Urgent care centers provide immediate medical care for non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries. At TGH Urgent Care powered by Fast Track, our board-certified providers offer many of the same services as primary care doctors. The main difference between our immediate care facilities and your family doctor lies in our office hours. Our physicians see patients from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week, allowing patients to receive quality medical care before or after work or school, when their general practitioners have no availability, and in the evening or on the weekend.
Our practice may also differ from your family doctor in terms of the services that we provide. As part of our commitment to providing convenient care, we perform a number of in-house diagnostic tests and procedures, including X-rays, EKGs, urinalysis, flu testing, urine pregnancy tests, and many others. In turn, you will not need to visit an offsite laboratory, diagnostic imaging center, or, in some cases, emergency room, allowing you to receive more immediate care.
While the board-certified providers at TGH Urgent Care can treat minor medical conditions, it is important to note that, unlike emergency rooms, we do not treat life-threatening illnesses and injuries. If you need treatment for a life-threatening condition, you should visit a major emergency medical center.
