TGH Urgent Care powered by Fast Track is an excellent option for individuals who need treatment for a non-life-threatening injury following a motor vehicle accident. We are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., 364 days a year, and offer comprehensive care to patients three months and older for a wide array of conditions. We also provide evaluations for patients who believe they should qualify for PIP benefits to cover treatment of an emergency medical condition (EMC) following an accident. Florida law requires that a person seeking care as a result of a motor vehicle accident must see a licensed provider within 14 days to be eligible for PIP benefits.
An EMC is defined as a medical condition manifesting itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity, which may include severe pain, such that the absence of immediate medical attention would reasonably be expected to result in any of the following:
- Serious jeopardy to patient health
- Serious impairment of bodily function
- Serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part
The only medical personnel with EMC diagnosis power include:
- Orthopedic physicians (MD)
- Osteopathic physicians (DO)
- Dentists
- Physician’s assistants
- Advanced registered nurse practitioners
